Movie: Bugs! (3D IMAX)

Summary: In Bugs! we closely, and I mean closely, follow a Great Mormon butterfly named Papilio (from its scientific name, Papilio memnon) and a green praying mantis named Hierodula (Hierodula membranacea) through their complete life cycles in the jungles and rain forests of Borneo. The audience also is introduced to a multitude of other insects, seen as we have never seen them before; some are magnified up to 250,000 times their normal size.
My view: We've been graced with another fascinating IMAX film, this time with an extremely high quality 3-D element added to enhance the experience. The absolutely awe-inspiring cinematography, combined with the large format of the screen and the superior 3-D technique used for this film, provides us with a bug's-eye view of the insect world. The camera angles are magnificent. Add to that the quality narration by Dame Judi Dench, and the personalization of the "main characters," and you have a film that will intrigue audiences of all ages.
Recommendations: I definitely recommend catching these bugs at the Channelside IMAX Theater in Tampa, which is currently the only theater in Florida showing this fascinating film.
