In a football game that spilled into a second day, Shorecrest beat Bronson 38-18 in its preseason opener last Friday at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

The Chargers were scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. but a late game pushed kickoff back to 10. Then the automatic lights at Disney went out at midnight, late in the third quarter. The switch was flipped and the game ended around 1:15 a.m. Saturday.

Quarterback Ryan Iacovacci scored four touchdowns, all rushing. On the fist play from scrimmage he scored on a 50-yard run. Byron Berthelot finished the game with 111 yards rushing.

On defense, junior cornerback Jake Stein played well with eight solo tackles (including a touchdown-saving tackle) and four assists. Stein also made all of Shorecrest's extra points and a 42-yard field goal.
