The Pasco County Sheriff's Office was investigating a home invasion Tuesday after a man pushed his way inside a home on Jeanie Lane and fired a shot from a handgun.

Residents called the Sheriff's Office just before midnight Monday to report that after two men had knocked on the door, one pushed his way inside, shot a round from a handgun above the head of a resident, then ran through part of the house and back out again, according to a sheriff's report. The man, wearing jeans, a white shirt and a black cap pulled over his face with eye holes cut out, ran east with his companion, who had waited outside.

Armed man grabs cash from food store register

A gunman robbed the Top King Food Store near Dade City after ordering the clerk to open the cash register and scooping the money out with his hands.

The man walked into the store about 10:20 a.m. Monday, flashed the gun and told a person inside to step back, according to sheriff's report. He then told the clerk to open the cash register, grabbed the money inside, pushed the store's door open with the cash in his fists and fled in a black Dodge pickup, the report said.
