Actor Johnny Depp likened the United States to a "dumb puppy that has big teeth" in an interview published Wednesday, ridiculing Washington's confrontation with France, where he lives, over the war in Iraq.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star - who spends much of his time in the south of France with his companion, Vanessa Paradis, and their two children - told the German magazine Stern he couldn't see himself paying more than short visits to his Los Angeles residence in the present political climate.
"America is dumb, is something like a dumb puppy that has big teeth - that can bite and hurt you, aggressive," Depp was quoted as saying.
Diaz's vacation starts with broken nose
It wasn't quite the birthday in paradise Cameron Diaz was hoping for.
Diaz said she broke her nose Saturday - her 31st birthday - during a surfing mishap off Waikiki Beach in Hawaii.
On Tuesday, the actor was wearing two tiny bandage strips on the bridge of her nose, which had no visible swelling. "I'm fine," she told the Associated Press. "But I'm just totally bummed out because I can't go surfing anymore."
Diaz said she was surfing with her older sister and a couple of friends when she wiped out and someone's board hit her in the face.
