Benefit concert is set for officer

ST. PETERSBURG - A benefit concert for St. Petersburg police Officer Kirby Fenton and his family will be Sept. 12 at The Palladium Theater.

The doo wop concert will feature acts such as the Dukes of Harmony, Tommy Mara & the Crests and Ken Brady, formerly of the Casinos.

Fenton, 45, an officer for 16 years, is dying of brain cancer. Fenton does not have much life insurance, only a $10,000 policy through the city. He has a wife and two children.

The event begins at 8 p.m. at 253 Fifth Ave N. Tickets are $20.
