BROOKSVILLE - A 19-year-old Spring Hill man was arrested Friday after he was accused of having sex with a minor.

Michael Lopez, of 7517 Mead Drive, was taken into custody after a teenage girl told authorities that she had had sex with Lopez and become pregnant, an arrest report stated. The girl's name is being withheld because of the nature of the allegations.

During the investigation, authorities determined that the pair had sex several times at the girl's house when her mother was not home. Lopez, who admitted to being under the influence of narcotics during the alleged incidents, was arrested and charged with three counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a child under 16 years old, a second-degree felony.

Lopez was being held Friday at the Hernando County Jail in lieu of $45,000 bail. If convicted, he could face up to 45 years in prison.
