BEARS: The 49-7 loss was the worst in an opener and fourth-worst overall in franchise history.

CARDINALS: Guard Leonard Davis and receiver Larry Foster left the game with ankle injuries. ... The Cardinals scored on their season-opening drive (on Jeff Blake's 7-yard pass to Anquan Boldin) for the first time since 1997. ... Boldin's 217 yards was the second-most in team history behind Sonny Randle's 256 against the Giants in 1962.

COWBOYS: The 63-yard touchdown run by Lakewood High graduate Aveion Cason was the longest by a Cowboy in 30 games. ... Running back Troy Hambrick ran out for pregame introductions wearing a black cowboy hat but rushed for only 53 yards on 14 carries in his debut as Emmitt Smith's replacement. ... Dallas lost its fourth consecutive opener.

FALCONS: Peerless Price had two catches for 30 yards in his Atlanta debut, one in the first quarter and a 22-yarder that set up the final touchdown.

49ERS: The 49 points scored were more than any of coach Dennis Erickson's teams did during his four seasons as coach of the Seahawks.

GIANTS: Amani Toomer has caught passes in 68 consecutive regular-season games. He needs 28 yards to pass Frank Gifford as the team's all-time leader in receiving yards (5,434). ... Left tackle Luke Petitgout left during the second quarter with back spasms. Rookie Jeff Roehl finished.

LIONS: Coach Steve Mariucci gave game balls to Lions fans and owner William Clay Ford. ... Joey Harrington is the first Detroit quarterback to throw four touchdowns since Scott Mitchell against Chicago in 1996.

PACKERS: Green Bay was outgained 196-2 during the first quarter, when Brett Favre was 2-of-6 for 1 yard and Ahman Green had his first fumble in 249 rushes.

PANTHERS: Quarterback Rodney Peete's wife, actor Holly Robinson Peete, sang the national anthem wearing her husband's jersey as a dress.

RAMS: St. Louis is 0-7 in Kurt Warner's past seven starts.

SAINTS: New Orleans opened on the road for the third consecutive season. The Saints beat the Bills in 2001 and won at Tampa Bay last season.

SEAHAWKS: Fullback Mack Strong broke a 20-yard run during the second quarter, the longest run of his 11-year career.

VIKINGS: Cornerback Denard Walker left in the second quarter with a mild concussion. ... John Avery's 11-yard touchdown reception during the first quarter was his first score since 1998.
