ST. PETERSBURG - Yes, it's fall. You can't tell it by the weather, but the season's arrival is evidenced by a slew of new shows at galleries all over the Tampa Bay area. The monthly Downtown Art Association Gallery walk on Saturday is a chance to see a number of them.
The Arts Center opens three new exhibitions - landscapes by Jerry Cutler and sculptures by Cheryl Bogdanowitsch; ceramics by Sean Manning; and paintings by Kevin Grass. At Florida Craftsmen, a novel fundraiser for its Craft Emergency Relief Fund that benefits artists in career-threatening emergencies coincides with the Saturday walk. A silent auction at the gallery is designed to let winning bidders collaborate with artists in creating a work. Sounds like fun.
Galleries will be open from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and admission to all is free. For information, call (727) 821-6767.
