The Pasco County Library system has announced a full list of activities in connection with this year's Tampa Bay-wide "One Book" reading project that has participants read the same book, then meet to discuss it.

The program started in Seattle five years ago and has spread to at least 36 states. This is the second year Pasco has held a "One Book" project and the first year it has joined Hillsborough, Pinellas and Hernando counties to form "One Bay One Book," with everyone reading the same book, Tom Wolfe's The Right Stuff, the story of the astronauts in the Mercury space program.

Last year, Pasco readers read the John Steinbeck classic, Of Mice and Men.

Besides discussions, Pasco libraries have scheduled two dozen special activities, starting Tuesday with a talk by a speaker from Kennedy Space Center at the Regency Park branch library and winding up Nov. 19 with a "Teen Space Movie Night" at the Hugh Embry branch library in Dade City.
