NEW PORT RICHEY - The West Pasco Historical Society board of directors will meet at 9 a.m. Monday to review concerns about museum operations raised by former curator Mary O'Benar, said Midge London-Prace, president of the society's board of directors.

Of particular interest is Ms. O'Benar's suggestions about an inventory of museum artifacts, Mrs. London-Prace said.

"I took pictures of what's in the museum cases in July, and, basically, we have an inventory list (of other items)," Mrs. London-Prace said. The board will discuss matching receipts given to donors for items they donated with the inventory photos and lists compiled by museum volunteers, she said.

The board also may discuss other concerns Ms. O'Benar raised, Mrs. London-Prace said. Ms. O'Benar served as a volunteer curator for two years, but was not appointed to an additional term by the president for the 2003-2004 year.

The board could also consider a contract proposed by the city of New Port Richey to help with the estimated $15,000 cost to replace the roof on the museum, Mrs. London-Prace said. Under the city's proposal, the museum will pay for the new roof, and the city will reimburse the museum for a portion of those costs.

The society will have a lawn sale of donated items during New Port Richey Founder's Day celebration Oct. 25 and 26 to help pay for the roof.
