PORT RICHEY - A 45-year-old Tampa woman was killed Wednesday night when she stepped in front of a pickup truck on U.S. 19, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. The crash happened just south of Jasmine Boulevard about 9 p.m. Ora S. Trusty of 4927 Halifax Drive was walking across the southbound lanes of U.S. 19 from east to west, the report said, when she walked directly in the path of the black Chevy pickup truck and was struck by its front end. She was taken to Morton Plant North Bay Hospital and from there was flown to Tampa General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, the report said. The truck was driven by 18-year-old Capri Sickler of Hudson, who has not been charged in the crash.
