TAMPA - Jesuit junior Andy Biladeau set his pace at the front of the pack and didn't look back until winning the USF/Jesuit Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
Biladeau, one of the top runners in the state, crossed the line in 15 minutes, 15.01 seconds.
He helped the Tigers win the team title. The Tigers finished in a tight row for a score of 58.
After Jesuit the next four teams were well back, with Ocala Vanguard scoring 93, Mitchell 124, Bloomingdale 165 and Wharton and Indian Rocks Christian tied at 166.
"The course was perfectly designed and was smooth today," Biladeau said. "I really wasn't paying attention to my competitors today. I just focused on my own race and didn't change anything."
James Osborne finished seventh, and Will Sievers was ninth, Andrew Boza 16th and John Evans 15th to give the Tigers the victory.
"I am proud of all our guys today,' Jesuit coach Mike Boza said. "They all ran strong and ran smart. They especially ran well in the second mile. The course had some sand spots that didn't help, but it was the same for everyone."
Bloomingdale's fourth-place finish was second best among the Hillsborough teams. Senior Alex Regar finished 13th to lead the Bulls. Kyle Koontz, Harrison Smith, John Paez and David Cook also scored points.
"Our guys ran a great race today," Bloomingdale coach Joe Hatfield said. "They are running hard to restore the winning tradition of Bulls teams in the past."
