Driver ejected, killed at scene of accident

TAMPA - A 34-year-old man was killed Sunday morning after his vehicle was hit and he was ejected.

Police said Alexander M. Madrid was northbound on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard about 5 a.m. when his 2002 Chevrolet Blazer was struck on the driver's side by Eugenio M. Jiminez-Sanchez.

Jiminez-Sanchez was eastbound on Himes Avenue in a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero. Madrid was thrown from the Blazer and died at the scene.

Charges are pending, authorities said.
