Max Pierre needs no concert hall to play to the crowds. "I like the freedom," he says of playing sax on the streets. "Freedom in the fact that I have a gig every time I open my case." Pierre can be heard all around Tampa, wherever there's a crowd. He's a regular outside the St. Pete Times Forum during hockey season. Recently, he played outside the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center before the Blue Man Group show. Here, Bella Pepin, 9, drops a dollar in Pierre's sax case, accompanied by her friends Lucia Scaglione and Laine Shear, both 8. The girls celebrated Bella's birthday at the show.
