This week's winner: Eric C. Bon of Clearwater knew that Steely Dan got its name from the novel Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs.
This week's question: We lost guitar legend Jimi Hendrix 33 years ago today. In 1967, Hendrix's manager had the bright idea of putting him in the opening slot on the Monkees' tour. Not surprisingly, Hendrix's psychedelic R&B didn't go over well with the teeny bopper audience and Hendrix was cut from the bill. Publicists needed a spin to explain why Hendrix was booted after just a few performances, so they blamed it on objections to Hendrix's overt sexuality by a conservative organization. To enter your name in the random drawing for the Weekend T-shirt, tell us what organization the publicists blamed for Hendrix's ouster.
