"SEPTEMBERFEST,' a two-day music, food, chili cook-off and fish fry event, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Shady Hills Family Center, 15925 Greenglen Lane, Shady Hills. Today features Wiley Fox Band, a fish fry and a fireworks finale. On Saturday, there will be games for the whole family, door prizes, Wiley Fox Band and other musicians, a "Trash to Treasure" sale, crafts, food vendors and a chili cook-off.

THE THURSDAY MUSICALE, a 50-member women's chorus, will perform at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of New Port Richey, 6561 Circle Blvd., New Port Richey. Featured singer will be Donna DeLonay, who also performs with the Florida Lyric Opera. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

VISUAL ARTS

"FROM FLORIDA TO FUNKYVILLE,' an exhibit of artworks by Roxanne Tobaison and Margaret Conte, continues through Tuesday at the Progress Energy Art Gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tobaison's watercolors depict Florida's architecture and wildlife. Conte's three-dimensional works in wood are described as "whimsical." Admission is free.

THE NATURE COAST DECORATIVE ARTISTS exhibit continues through Monday at the Alric Pottberg Library on the Pasco-Hernando West Campus, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. The works include oils, acrylics, watercolors, pen, ink, fabric dyes and pastels. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Monday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

ART BY FRANK CASTANZA is on exhibit at the New Port Richey City Hall on Main Street through Tuesday. Castanza is an art instructor at Michael's Arts and Crafts in Port Richey and studied art in New York.

WORK BY FINE CRAFT ARTISTS is on exhibit through Oct. 31 at Pasco Arts Center, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. A Meet the Artists reception will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4. Viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Admission is free.

PORTRAITS AND LANDSCAPES by artist Arlita Costello of New Port Richey will be on exhibit through Tuesday at the Hudson Library off Fivay Road in Hudson.

AUDITIONS FOR "GREASE,' a musical, will be held by the Theatre Company of the Dance Workshop at 6 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday at the Dance Workshop, 6822 Ridge Road, Port Richey (1 mile east of U.S. 19). Roles are available for males and females ages 13 and older. Production dates are Nov. 14 and 15 at a west Pasco venue to be announced. Saturday and evening rehearsals will be at Dance Workshop. RICHEY SUNCOAST THEATRE will begin three new classes for actors on Wednesday at the theater, 6237 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Classes for intermediate and professional-level actors are scene study and television commercials II. A class for professional-level actors only is characters from great world drama. PHOTOGRAPHERS may submit their photos of nature and downtown New Port Richey for the second annual Founder's Day photo contest sponsored by Greater New Port Richey Main Street. Each entrant may submit three photos at the Main Street office, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays or at Pasco Camera Exchange, 5405 Main St., from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Photos must have been taken after Jan. 1, 2001, be matted or mounted, and be either 5 by 7 inches or 8 by 10 inches. Prizes will be awarded for ages 18 and younger and 19 and older. Founder's Day will be Oct. 24-26. Entry fee is $2 a picture.
