ACCOUNTING

Grant Thornton, Tampa, announced these promotions: Melissa Miller Hardie, Bridget Kindberg and Matt McNamara, to assurance managers from senior associates.

ARCHITECTURE

WilderArchitecture Inc., Tampa, announced these appointments: Eric Rice and John Thompson, to partners. Rice and Thompson were partners and associate principals at Rowe Architecture Inc., Tampa.

BANKING

Donna M. Holzhauer has been promoted to vice president for Bank of America at its Brooksville branch. Holzhauer was a residential mortgage lender.

Old Harbor Bank, Clearwater, announced these appointments: Barry K. Miller, president and chairman; William W. Short, chief operating officer and senior lender; Jeff Seligsohn, executive vice president and chief financial officer; James Ray, senior vice president/commercial lending; and Kimberly L. Horstman, vice president/retail banking. Miller was senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, Mercantile Bank, St. Petersburg; Short was vice president/commercial lending, Mercantile Bank, Countryside; Seligsohn was executive vice president and controller, Mercantile Bank, St. Petersburg; Ray was senior vice president and North County executive with United Bank; and Horstman was vice president and branch manager for Mercantile Bank at its Koger office in St. Petersburg.

CONSTRUCTION

Candice Crain has been named marketing director for the Central Florida division of U.S. Home Corp., Clearwater. Crain was director of marketing and communications for Open Network, Clearwater.

ENGINEERING

Gwen Hines has been named corporate director of human resources for the TBE Group, Clearwater. Hines was human resources manager for Assurant Group Consumer Services, Tampa.

FINANCIAL

Bill Maloney has been elected to the board of governors for the Florida Institute of CPAs. Maloney is a partner at Tatum Partners, Tampa.

LEGAL

Fowler White Boggs Banker, Tampa, announced these appointments: Thomas R. Bopp, to the board of directors of the Hillsborough County Bar Association; William J. Flynn III, to the 2003-04 class of Leadership Florida; and Katherine C. "Kacy" Lake, to the 2004 class of Leadership Tampa. Bopp is a shareholder and practices in the litigation department; Flynn is a shareholder and is the international practice group leader; and Lake is a shareholder and a member of the firm's securities, financial and white collar practice group.

David L. Smith has been named chairman of the board for the Florida chapter of the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Smith is a shareholder and practices real estate law for GrayHarris, Tampa.

MARKETING

Diane Benoist-Cook has been promoted to business development executive at PrimeNet Marketing Services, Clearwater. Benoist-Cook was an account manager.

REAL ESTATE

Dolores S. Seymour has been named one of Florida's Top Women in Commercial Real Estate by the Florida Real Estate Journal. Twenty women were selected based on experience in the industry and vital roles they played in the real estate business in Florida. Seymour is director of corporate services at Colliers Arnold, Tampa.
