Preps

Football player of the week

By JOHN C. COTEY
Published October 1, 2003

Vince Patterson did it all for Admiral Farragut in their win over Lakeland Santa Fe Catholic. Okay, well not all. He only had 238 of the team's 286 yards. And though he scored all three Blue Jackets touchdowns, he did not kick the extra points. Oh, who are we kidding? A few yards and three kicks aside, Patterson did it all and is this week's Times Pinellas County player of the week. Patterson was shut down in the first half but scored three times on runs of 15, 42 and 12 yards and had 123 of his 153 yards in the second half. He also caught three passes for 85 yards. Patterson has scored 36 points this season, just over half of the Blue Jackets' 70.
