TORONTO - Stanley Roberts signed with the Raptors on Tuesday, almost four years after he was kicked out of the league for failing a drug test.

The NBA reinstated the 7-foot, 290-pound center in January. Roberts, frequently injured during his eight years in the league, will stay in Florida to work out until he is fit. He may join the Raptors after training camp, depending on his progress, general manager Glen Grunwald said.

Roberts, 33, was drafted by the Magic 23rd overall in 1991.

BUCKS: Free agents Lynn Greer, Antonio Meeking and Greg Stempin signed. Greer, 6-foot-2, averaged 22.6 points and 4.4 assists at Temple in 2002. The 6-8 Meeking averaged 18 points at Louisiana Tech. Stempin, 6-8, played two seasons in the developmental league.

HEAT: Free agent Cherokee Parks signed a one-year deal. The 6-foot-11 Parks, who plays power forward and center, averaged 6.3 points and 4.4 rebounds with the Clippers.

HORNETS: Second-round pick James Lang and free agents Kareem Reid and Paul Shirley signed. Lang, a 6-foot-10, 305-pound center out of Central Park Christian School in Birmingham, Ala., averaged 21 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks as a senior last season and was a McDonald's High School All-American.

SUPERSONICS: Rookie forward Nick Collison, the 12th pick out of Kansas, left practice with a strained left shoulder. The extent of the injury was unknown.

TIMBERWOLVES: Veteran forward Gary Trent, who averaged 6 points and 3.6 rebounds in 80 games last season, re-signed.

TRAIL BLAZERS: Center Chris Dudley announced his retirement after 16 seasons. Dudley, a fourth-round pick of Cleveland in 1987, finished with 3,473 points and 5,457 rebounds.

TRADES: Houston traded forward Glen Rice to Utah for center John Amaechi. The Rockets also signed free-agent swingman Jim Jackson, who played with the Kings. Phoenix acquired three players, including guard Brevin Knight, from Memphis for forward Bo Outlaw and center Jake Tsakalidis. The Suns also got forward Robert Archibald and center Cezary Trybanski.
