DOVER - Three masked men tried to steal an ATM from a store during the weekend, authorities said.

The men backed up a late model black Dodge Ram to Seven Star Food store at 15634 Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Blvd. about 10:37 p.m. Sunday, Hillsborough sheriff's deputies said. One of the men had a handgun and guarded the clerk, deputies said, while the others tried to remove the ATM with a hand truck. The men left, traveling north along Forbes Road, without the machine.

Deputies said the truck they drove had an extended cab and a Florida tag.

Deputies described one of the robbers as a black man in his early to mid 20s, 6 feet tall and 145 pounds; he was last seen wearing a black mask, yellow shirt, jeans and armed with a chrome handgun.

The second robber was described as a black man, 5-9 to 5-10 , 125 to 135 pounds, last seen wearing all blue clothes with a black T-shirt wrapped around his face. Deputies described the third man as white or Hispanic, 5-9 , 150 pounds, last seen wearing camouflage pants and shirt with a ski mask.

Anyone with information about the incident can call the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office at 247-8200.
