Published October 3, 2003

Four young women. One crown. Who will be the 45th Queen Isabella to represent the Krewe of Columbus? The selection is pure chance at the Saturday gala at the Tampa Convention Center. Former City Council member Bob Buckhorn will draw the names from a crystal bowl, as he has for a decade. The first three names drawn will be princesses. The last name plucked is the queen.

Dinner and dancing follow the coronation ceremony.

The candidates for Queen Isabella are:

- Elise Alexandra Garcia, 16, daughter of Frank John Garcia and Lynette Garcia. She attends Tampa Catholic.

- Danielle Lauren Guidice, 16, daughter of Melinda Dickens and Ernest Guidice. She attends Plant High.

- Richelle Lynn Marotta, 17, daughter of Richard and Gail Marotta. She attends Gaither High.

- Jenna Lee Rowe, 16, daughter of Vernon and Jeannie Rowe. She attends Plant High.

Three women join the 2003 court of Isabella as duchesses. They are Christine Marie Hudson, 20, daughter of Diane Jiminez and Bill Hudson (Hillsborough Community College); Elizabeth Ann Milhan, 15, daughter of Pam and Randy Milhan (Seminole High); and Rochelle Marie Reyes, 15, daughter of Charlotte and Roy Reyes (Tampa Catholic).
