TAMPA - For one day at least, Berkeley Prep was the envy of college football players everywhere.
Midway through the Buccaneers' practice Thursday, Lynn Zirkle rolled a black shipping crate to the track and. As the team gathered around, he pulled out the Heisman Trophy.
Zirkle, whose son, Ryan, is a receiver for the Bucs, is a sales manager for Herff Jones, which manufactures the trophy awarded to college football's most outstanding player.
He arranged for the trophy to be shipped from Indianapolis to inspire the team.
The 25-pound trophy the Bucs passed around will be presented to this year's winner in December.
"We just wanted to stress that you have to get better every day," Berkeley Prep coach Frank Sullivan said. "I thought this would help get them better."
