Sue Brody has been named by Gov. Jeb Bush to serve on the state's newly created task force on Access to Affordable Health Insurance. The task force will examine the factors contributing to the lack of affordable insurance and provide recommendations to improve access to health insurance. Brody is president and chief executive of Bayfront Health System, St. Petersburg.

Dr. Susan Betzer has been named the Association of Fundraising Professional's volunteer of the year in philanthropy. Betzer is a family practitioner and has a private practice in St. Petersburg.

Ruth Montgomery has been named regional manager for the Southeast for CHOICE Medical Management Services Inc., Tampa. Montgomery was client services manager for Crawford & Co., Atlanta.

INSURANCE

Steve Farmer has been appointed president-elect of the Pinellas Association of Insurance Agents. Farmer is an assistant vice president in the employee benefits division for Wallace Welch & Willingham Inc., St. Petersburg.

LEGAL

W. Patrick Ayers has been named a partner at the law firm of Cohn & Cohn PA., Tampa. Ayres will practice in the areas of creditor rights, landlord-tenant, foreclosures, commercial litigation and general business law. Ayers was a shareholder and staff attorney at Carlton Fields, Tampa.

David S. Hendrix has been named to the board of directors of Crime Stoppers of Pinellas County Inc. Hendrix is a shareholder at the law firm of GrayHarris, Tampa.

Lawrence P. Ingram has been recognized as a Patriotic Employer by the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Ingram is managing partner at the law firm of Phelps Dunbar, Tampa.

Dinita L. James has received the American Bar Association Section of Litigation's Award of Excellence. James is a partner and practices in the areas of large employment discrimination, anti-discrimination, whistleblower protection, anti-retaliation law, and enforcement of non-compete and trade secret agreements for the law firm of Ford & Harrison, Tampa.

Rhea F. Law has been approved by Gov. Jeb Bush as a resident member of the Florida Council of 100. Law is president and chief executive of the law firm of Fowler White Boggs Banker, Tampa.

Peter W. Zinober has been elected as a management member of the council of the labor and employment law section of the American Bar Association. Zinober is founding partner at the law firm of Zinober & McCrea PA, Tampa.

NONPROFIT

Vicki Boyle has been named corporate president of Executive Women International. Boyle is executive assistant to the chairman at TECO Energy, Tampa.

ORGANIZATIONS

Dianne Jacob has been appointed to the board of Prevent Blindness Florida. Jacob is director of business development for Hardin Construction, Tampa.

The Society for Marketing Professional Services, Tampa Bay Chapter has announced its board of directors for 2003-04. JR Kozera, president; Tom Townsend, vice president; Dee Covington, secretary; and Esther Leonard, treasurer. Kozera is marketing manager of Avid Engineer, Palm Harbor; Townsend is principal of BD Strategies, Tampa; Covington is director of business development, Elements, Tampa; and Leonard is a senior account manager at NGI, Tampa.

PUBLICATIONS

Laura Gabrelcik has been named marketing director for Tampa Bay Magazine, Clearwater. Gabrelcik was director of advertising at the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

RECREATION

Marshall Bross has been named activities director for Waterchase, Tampa. Bross was recreation director for the City of St. Petersburg.

TECHNOLOGY

Bob Larrivee has been appointed to the emerging technologies advisory group of the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM). Larrivee is sales and marketing manager for Docubase Systems Inc., Clearwater.
