ATLANTA - Gus Frerotte erased a very bad memory in his return to the Georgia Dome.
A year ago, Frerotte started for the hapless Bengals, was benched after missing on his first seven passes and watched the rest of a 30-3 loss.
Sunday, he got some payback against Atlanta. Starting his second straight game, Frerotte threw two touchdowns and helped keep Minnesota unbeaten with a 39-26 win.
"It was a rough day back when I was with the Bengals," Frerotte said. "I got hit hard a lot that day. Things weren't as positive there as they are here."
Moe Williams ran for two second-half touchdowns as the Vikings scored 27 consecutive points over the third and part of the fourth quarter.
"I don't think they're as good as we are," Falcons quarterback Doug Johnson said. "When you're playing at home, you're supposed to beat teams you're better than. It's very frustrating."
Johnson, starting for injured Michael Vick, hasn't matched the success of Minnesota's backup though he had 352 yards passing. The Vikings haven't missed a beat with Frerotte filling in for Daunte Culpepper, winning the past two by a combined 74-33.
Frerotte was 14-of-24 for 239 yards Sunday, including two throws for 50-plus yards.
In pursuit of coach Dan Reeves' 200th victory, the Falcons led 20-12 at halftime. It didn't last. Frerotte hit Randy Moss for a 17-yard score in the third quarter, then a two-point conversion pass to Onterrio Smith tied it at 20.
Moss also had a 32-yard touchdown in the second quarter, beating cornerback Kevin Mathis on a post route. The receiver has five touchdowns in his past two games.
Minnesota went ahead for good with 2:46 left in the third. Frerotte's 51-yard pass to Kelly Campbell pushed the Vikings deep into Atlanta territory, and Williams scored on an 11-yard run.
Williams finished off the Falcons with a 5-yard touchdown early in the fourth.
