By playing tough against state-ranked Sarasota Booker in last week's 33-29 loss, Osceola gained some respect and proved it is a team to be reckoned with in Class 3A, District 11.
Tonight, the Warriors try to show they belong among the upper echelon of the county when they travel to Dunedin for a nondistrict game.
The Falcons, who are 5-0 and have won 14 of their past 15 regular-season games, can light up the scoreboard.
Led by quarterback Theo Wilson, who operates a wide-open offense, Dunedin is averaging nearly 40 points and a county-best 466 yards per game.
But the Warriors can score, too.
They are averaging 40 points per game and have big-play potential in Sergio Felton, a multidimensional senior who is tied for the county lead in scoring with 60 points and averages 28 yards every time he touches the ball.
Instead of flinging it through the air, Osceola coach George Palmer most likely will stick to a ball-control, time-consuming offense that was effective against Booker.
It might be the only way to keep the scoring down.
