Two brothers were arrested in an attack with golf clubs that left two 16-year-old boys badly beaten.
John William Manning III, 23, and Aaron Manning, 18, both of Eastwood Drive, Lutz, each were charged with aggravated battery after they were arrested Thursday, according to a report from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. John Manning remained in the Land O'Lakes jail without bail Friday on suspected violation of probation on Hillsborough County charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and in lieu of $5,000 for the Pasco charge.
Aaron Manning was released from the jail after posting $5,000 bail. Earlier this month, their other brother, Brian Matthew Manning, was charged with aggravated battery.
The brothers are accused of attacking the boys last month on Eastwood Drive with golf clubs and a black pipe, the reports said. One boy's hand was broken, while the other suffered bruises on his body. Witnesses said Brian Manning was the one who broke the one boy's hand, reports said.
Man accused of choking, butting young man, 17
NEW PORT RICHEY - A 45-year-old man was arrested on a charge of child abuse early Friday morning. He was accused of grabbing a 17-year-old by the throat, choking him and "head-butt(ing)" him, city police reported.
Bruce White of 5711 Pine St. had had his fist clenched as if he were going to strike a woman, the New Port Richey police report said. The incident happened when the teenager, whom the report did not identify, stepped between the man and the woman.
White was being held in the county jail Friday in lieu of $2,500 bail.
