UM quotebook

Safety Sean Taylor, who intercepted two passes and returned one for a touchdown:

"Our motto was, "We were going to come in and punch them in the mouth.' And we weren't going to stop punching them in the mouth."

Coach Larry Coker on being the underdog:

"Not a lot of people actually gave us much of a chance. It just says a lot about our character."

Coker on holding FSU to fewer than 300 yards of offense:

"(Defensive coordinator) Randy Shannon and our defensive staff did a tremendous job of studying them and really trying to put them in bad situations. We really stopped the run, which allowed us to really do the other things we needed to do to put them into tough situations."

Linebacker D.J. Williams on limiting FSU tailback Greg Jones to 15 yards. (He had 189 against Miami last year.)

"All we did was get pressure on him, not let him go downhill, trying to keep him going sideways. We wanted to hit him and then just hang on."

Defensive tackle Vince Wilfork on the 18-play, 79-yard FSU drive that resulted in no points:

"That was a big drive for them. We had to stop them. We had to keep them out of the end zone. When they got down there, we really came together. We clamped down, and they didn't score. It was a positive for us, and I think it shook them up."
