Honeymoon Island State Park will hold its six annual Halloween in the Park event from 6 to10 p.m. today and Saturday. Activities include a hayride down the nature trail, spooky stories, games, face painting, pony rides, scavenger hunt, haunted "graveyard," Egyptian tomb, pirates, witches and ghouls. Participants are encouraged to attend in costume. Admission is $10 per carload. Also, it's a good idea to bring insect repellent and a flashlight for safety. The park is six miles west of U.S. 19 at the end of Curlew Road.

Eerie movie

Put on your scariest costume and settle in for a free showing of the Bride of Frankenstein at dusk today at Pioneer Park at Main Street and Douglas Avenue in downtown Dunedin. The macabre, satirical 75-minute movie, considered by some to be one of the greatest horror films of all time, was made in 1935 .s a sequel to Frankenstein. Prizes will be awarded for the best theme costume and best "creative seating concept." Bring a lawn chair, blanket and picnic.

Spooktacular

A Halloween fun night will be held at Largo Central Park on from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. The event will include free trick or treating and costume parade. Wristbands may be purchased to participate in additional activities, which will include inflatables, carnival games, arts & crafts, haunted house & much more. Wristbands may be purchased in advance at any recreation facility (beginning October 1) for $2 with a recreation card or $4 without a recreation card. All wristbands on site will be $5. There will be no on site parking for this event. Park and ride a trolley from Largo Central Elementary, Largo Middle School and the Pinellas County School Board. Dunedin Chautauqua Festival

Four musical acts will celebrate the history and natural beauty of Florida through ballads, acoustic music and folk vocals 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dunedin Historical Society in downtown Dunedin Saturday. At 10 a.m., Florida Songstory, made up of native Floridians Lee Paulet and Betsy Bolger-Paulet, will weave a colorful tapestry of the state's history through stories of its heroes, wars and warriors by way of spoken word and song. At 11 a.m., Mike Pinheiro, will entertain with comedy and poignant ballads. At noon, vocalist Julia Simms, whose gentle guitar melodies have been compared with Tracy Chapman, will perform. At 1 p.m., catch Jak Kelly, a folk singer who performs music along the lines of Gordon Lightfoot. Admission is free. The museum is at 349 Main St. For information, call (727) 736-1176.

ARTOBERFEST: The Gulf Coast Museum of Art invites members of Les Fauves, the museum's young professionals membership group, and their friends for Artoberfest from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Enjoy beer, wursts and sausages. Dress as your favorite artist or theme from your favorite painting and win a prize. Or you can try your hand at stein decorating. SKI SHOW: The Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team will perform in a lighted night show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Tower Lake, behind the Oldsmar Flea Market. The Halloween-themed show will feature an Addams Family story for all ages. To get to the show from Tampa Road, go north on Race Track Road, left on Douglas Road and left at the small ski team sign. GRAVEYARD WALK: The Tarpon Springs Historical Society will present its fourth annual cemetery event, "Visitors from the Past," 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, at Cycadia Cemetery, 1005 E Tarpon Avenue, just east of U.S. 19. During the event, historical society volunteers play the parts of Tarpon residents of bygone eras. The "visitors" include Native Americans, a keeper of the Anclote Key lighthouse, a Russian Jew who was the town's the first postmaster, an African-American who served in the Confederate Army, a Lithuanian immigrant owned a department store owner, and a town marshal. Previous cemetery events have included only those buried in Cycadia Cemetery. This year's event brings together individuals who all contributed to the city's heritage no matter where they're buried. In several cases, descendents of the visitors from the past will portray their ancestors. Guests will take home a program about the participants and an old-fashioned hand fan like the ones that used to be kept in church pews. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. OPERA: The Florida Lyric Opera presents highlights of La Traviata 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, inside City Hall, 324 Pine St. The production features Sara Peeples as Violetta, Constantine Grame as Alfredo, and Kevin Nickorick as Germont. Rena Massey will provide piano accompaniment, and Florida Lyric Opera director Rosalia Maresca will offer commentary to set each scene. These highlights are a teaser to the full opera which will be presented in May by the Sunstate Opera, with the same people in the starring roles. Admission is $12, $11 for center members or students. SOUL FOOD FEST: The Greater Ridgecrest community and the YMCA of the Suncoast, Greater Ridgecrest branch are holding a fall community sale and a food fest at 1801 119th St. N. from 8 to 5 pm. SUNSETS AT PIER 60: Celebrate the end of the day with a festival of arts, crafts and entertainment two hours before and two hours after sunset at the Pier 60 Pavilion on Clearwater Beach. Today, it's Island Boys (Caribbean tunes); Saturday, it's Local Tourists (contemporary music); and Sunday, it's Mallku (Peruvian folk). Admission is free.

ART SHOW: The Painted Fish Gallery and Clay and Paper are currently featuring three guest artists through Nov. 2: Robin E. Popp, a Clearwater landscape and nature painter, Elizabeth Mitchell, originally of New Zealand who people and places, and Hank Goodman, a potter from Arden, N.C.
