BALLAST POINT - Love eating Italian? Want to learn to speak it, too?

Cellini Restaurant has teamed with language instructor Roberto Alvarez to present six nights of eating and learning Italian. The restaurant, at 5427 Bayshore Blvd., will offer the classes from 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 27 to Dec. 1. A pasta dinner will be served with each class.

The cost is $35 per class.

HISTORIC HYDE PARK - Hosting holiday parties can be such a pain in the eggnog. Especially difficult is finding ways to keep Christmas fresh and exciting.

To help with holiday planning, Old Hyde Park Village is hosting a seminar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the old Cactus Club restaurant. Presentations will range from tree trimming and floral demonstrations to holiday hairstyling and wine tasting.

Area merchants will participate and food and beverages will be provided. The cost is $100, with a portion of the proceeds going to Gorrie Elementary School.
