Dr. Harold J. Colbassani has been named medical director of the center of neurosciences at Mease Dunedin Hospital. Colbassani was chief of neurosurgery since 1998.

Tammy Roy has been promoted to director of marketing services for Sports & Orthopedic Rehabilitation Services Inc., Palm Harbor. Roy was marketing coordinator and director of the referral center.

Steven J. Scheidt has been named vice president/private sector sales for Comprehensive Care Corp., Tampa. Scheidt was a pharmacy benefit consultant for AELRx Inc., Lake Oswego, Ore.

Paul Areida has been named president of the motor vehicle records division and subsidiary company, American Driving Records Inc., for First Advantage Corp., St. Petersburg. Areida was senior vice president and national sales manager for Applied Systems Inc., University Park, Ill.

Charles T. Moore has been named a shareholder at the law firm of KnopikKriegerVarner, Tampa. The law firm will now be known as KnopikVarnerMoore.

MANUFACTURERS

David Merrick has been named national sales manager for the veterinary division, Vitality Systems, of Vertical Health Solutions Inc., Oldsmar. Merrick was territory manager for IVESCO distributors, Madison, Wis.

The Pinellas Association for Retarded Children, St. Petersburg, has elected new officers and new members to its 2003-04 board of directors. Officers are: David G. Pilkington, chairman; Bruce C. Crawford, first vice chairman; Mark A. LaPrade, second vice chairman and secretary; Robert L. "Skip" Carr, treasurer; and Martha J. Medley, past chairwoman. Pilkington is vice president of Brown & Brown Inc., St. Petersburg; Crawford is a lawyer with Crawford, Owen & Hines, St. Petersburg; LaPrade is president of Thunder Marine, St. Petersburg; Carr is president of Cornerstone Bank, St. Petersburg; Medley is a St. Petersburg resident; Crimella is vice president with United Bank, St. Petersburg; Culver is president-elect of the League to Aid Retarded Children, St. Petersburg; Davis is president of Gift of Life Adoptions and First Florida Development Corp., Pinellas Park; Heeren is an account executive with Enterasys Networks, Largo; Punzak is an shareholder at the law firm of Carlton Fields, St. Petersburg; Simonich is an orthopedic surgeon for Tampa Bay Orthopedic Specialists, St. Petersburg; and Witt is a family practice physician with Bay Area Family Practice, St. Petersburg.

ORGANIZATIONS

Martin W. Gladysz has been elected to the board of directors of Goodwill Industries-Suncoast Inc., St. Petersburg. Gladysz is executive vice president and chief financial officer at Madison Bank, Palm Harbor.

Linda Keever has been recognized by the Florida Council of Economic Education for Outstanding Program Service. Keever is publisher of Florida Trend magazine.

Kimberly Coniglio has been named accountant for the Florida State Fair Authority, Tampa. Coniglio was a finance project specialist for Crystals International Inc., Plant City.
