The Tampa Bay Concert Choir will sing as part of a program to commemorate Kristallnacht, "Night of Broken Glass," the Nazi attack against thousands of Jewish synagogues and businesses that took place across Europe on Nov. 8, 1938. The performance, at the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg, includes excerpts from Robert Convery's Songs of Children, based on poetry by children in the Terezin concentration camp, and Ravensbruck Prayer by choir director Francis Montague Wells, above.
"In a world where humanity's barbarity seems unending, where people in every land suffer persecution because of their race or ethnicity, their gender or sexual identity, their religious beliefs, we hold this music up as a beacon lighting the way toward healing and peace," Wells said.
