Finding Nemo

DIRECTOR: Andrew Stanton

CAST: Voices of Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Willem Dafoe, Brad Garrett, Allison Janney, Geoffrey Rush, Barry Humphries

SYNOPSIS: The story of a father clown fish (voice by Brooks) searching the seas for his lost son with the help of a daft blue tang (DeGeneres).

WHAT WE SAID: Times film critic Steve Persall gave the film an enthusiastic A in his May review. "The third time I saw Finding Nemo was as marvelous as the first. Not many films pull me into theaters that many times. Even fewer could make me laugh, jump and weep at the same material each viewing, or make me anticipate the next highlight and enjoy the first-timers' responses to it. Once again, Pixar Animation Studios, in partnership with Disney, has created a great film for all ages, blending the spirits of Jacques Cousteau and Indiana Jones for a memorable undersea adventure."

MPAA RATING: G

RUNNING TIME: 101 minutes

Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde

DIRECTOR: Charles Herman-Wurmfeld

CAST: Reese Witherspoon, Sally Field, Bob Newhart, Luke Wilson, Jennifer Coolidge, Regina King, Jessica Cauffiel, Alanna Ubach

SYNOPSIS: Witherspoon returns as Elle Woods, an extremely fashion conscious Harvard graduate now working in Washington, D.C.

WHAT WE SAID: Persall gave the film a C- in July. "Telling the same blond joke twice, even if it worked the first time, doesn't make it funnier. Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde is a limp sequel to Reese Witherspoon's surprising 2000 hit, discarding the original's surprises and coasting on familiarity, a deadly combination for any attempt at humor."

MPAA RATING: PG-13; sex-related humor

RUNNING TIME: 95 minutes

Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights

DIRECTOR: Seth Kearsley

CAST: Voices of Adam Sandler, Jackie Titone, Austin Stout, Jon Lovitz, Kevin Nealon

SYNOPSIS: The former Saturday Night Live star makes an animated comedy about Hanukkah.

WHAT WE SAID: Persall gave the film a D. "Eight Crazy Nights is a thankfully short barrage of animated animosity, a batch of crude, cruel and unusual jokes serving no purpose for the holiday season despite a late detour into sentimental dreck. Just because the movie is set during Hanukkah and Christmas doesn't mean it's a gift to moviegoers."

MPAA RATING: PG-13 for crude and cruel humor, profanity, alcohol abuse, drug references, sexual situations.

RUNNING TIME: 73 minutes
