Greater Dade City Chamber hands out honors

DADE CITY - The Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce recognized a variety of local volunteers, organizations and businesses for their contributions over the past year at its annual banquet Thursday.

Outgoing chamber president Charlotte Kiefer was named Citizen of the Year; Business Leader of the Year was Jim Scott; Large Business of the Year was Pasco Motors; Small Business of the Year was Britton & Associates; East Pasco Habitat for Humanity was named Civic Association of the Year; and Angles Lamb took home Chamber Member of the Year.

Barry Lynch of the accounting firm Lynch, Gregg & Lynch was presented with the Richard brink Lifetime Achievement Award. Habitat for Humanity volunteer Denny Mihalinec was named Volunteer of the Year. A special award was presented to the family of the late Pasco County sheriff's Lt. Charles "Bo" Harrison, killed on duty June 1.

The chamber also presented the 2004 executive board members, Jim Scott, president; Joey Wubbena, first vice president; Pete Odom, second vice president; Lorrie Glover, secretary; Carolyn Hodges, treasurer; and Charlotte Kiefer, past president.

The chamber's 2004 Board of Directors are Kathy Britton, Ann Colling, Lori Cunningham, Susan Larkin Douberley, Susan Frimmel, Joy Hampton, Scott Harper, Tom Lange, Bonnie McKenzie, Penny Morrill, Jerry Sterner, Sue Szczerba, Rod Urban, and David West.
