Homeschooled team wins first district title

ST. PETERSBURG - Michael Bauer has his twin brother, Christopher, by six minutes and two goals.

He scored twice in the first half before the rain to give Pinellas Christian Homeschool a 2-1 victory against Canterbury in the district final at Puryear Park on Thursday.

Fourteen minutes into the Patriots' first district final in their three years, Bauer gave them a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later, he made it 2-0.

Canterbury got its only goal from Robert Donaldson with 13 minutes left in the first half. It lost for the fourth time this season to Pinellas Christian.
