Sheryl Kennedy has been promoted to audit manager-assurance services division for Gregory, Sharer & Stuart PA, St. Petersburg. Kennedy was an audit supervisor.

Wilkinson, to the board of governors of the Florida Institute of CPAs. Lopez and Tushaus were managers; Brannan and Wilkinson are partners.

FKQ Advertising & Marketing, Clearwater, announced these promotions: Carrie McCannell, to senior account executive; and Leah Sung, to assistant account executive. McCannell was an account executive; Sung was an account coordinator.

The Central Florida division of U.S. Homes Corp., Clearwater, announced these appointments: Kurt R. Kiesel, vice president of purchasing; Mark Metheny, vice president/project manager; William Miller, construction manager for the community of Summerfield in Riverview; and Betty Register, director of closing. Kiesel was director of purchasing for KB Home, Tampa; Metheny was division controller for Lennar Homes, Tampa; Miller was a superintendent for Ryland Homes, Oldsmar; and Register was director of closing for Lennar Homes' Broward County division.

Bill Sinopoli has been promoted to senior sales executive for Live Oak Preserve, New Tampa, for Transeastern Homes, Tampa. Sinopoli was a sales executive for Laguna Isles, Pembroke Pines.

Fowler White Boggs Banker, Tampa, announced these elections: Cathy J. Beveridge, chairwoman of the Florida Bar's labor and employment law section; and Mitchell I. Horowitz, chairman-elect of the Florida Bar's tax section for 2004-05. Horowitz will serve as chairman for 2005-06. Beveridge is a shareholder and is the employment litigation practice group leader; Horowitz is a shareholder and the tax practice group leader.

Heidi Kelchner has been named director of operations for Blue Reef Creative, St. Petersburg. Kelchner was marketing communications director at Digital Fusion, Huntsville, Ala.

Dennis Valenti has been named a mortgage consultant for HomeBanc Mortgage Corp., Tampa. Valenti was Southeast HR generalist for Staples Clearwater district office.

C. Fred Deuel has been recognized with a Life Member Award by the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society. Deuel is a founding member of the society and is president of C. Fred Deuel & Associates Inc., St. Petersburg.

Jan La Belle has been named chairwoman for the Florida Rehabilitation Council. La Belle is executive director of Family Network on Disabilities of Florida, Clearwater.

Chris Hines has been named president of the transportation division for Pegasus TransTech, Tampa. Hines was vice president for Terion Inc., Dallas.

Kim Shimer has been promoted to operations manager for Republic Telecom, Tampa. Shimer was an inside sales coordinator.
