NOT EVERYONE ON THE RUNWAY AT THE VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOW WEARS ONLY UNDERWEAR: Unfortunately, the only person Sideshow was interested in seeing scantily clad was Sting, and he did not oblige. Sting performed during the show, which was Thursday in New York. It airs at 10 p.m. Wednesday on CBS.

MORE FROM THE FASHION POLICE: British soccer hooligans have developed a refined fashion sense. And it's getting them banned at pubs.

It's also getting banned those who had the same sensibility long before they did, namely women who love the camel-, red- and black-checked nation of Burberry.

Burberry is a 147-year-old British clothing company best known for its coats (Audrey Hepburn wore one in Breakfast at Tiffany's; supermodel Kate Moss now does its ads). Its items, or counterfeit versions, have become popular among people best known for being violent at soccer games, and pubs have started refusing admittance to men who show up wearing anything Burberry. A pub in Aberdeen, Scotland, took that stance a step further and recently refused to let in a nonhooligan woman who was carrying a Burberry bag and umbrella.

Pub manager Maureen Lethorn later apologized. She told Cox News Service that the woman had arrived shortly after her doorman banned a group of young men because they were wearing Burberry.

A NEW TITANIC, THE MUSICAL: Best line from the withering major reviews of Taboo, the Rosie O'Donnell-produced Broadway musical about the life of Boy George (co-starring Boy George but as someone else): "Experiencing the stultifying Taboo, you feel as if you could be standing on a shaky pier on the edge of theaterland, waving the SS Broadway Musical goodbye." - Peter Marks, Washington Post.

MAYBE IF "COUPLING' HAD BEEN A REALITY SHOW . . .: The latest from the world of cheap 'n' easy TV producing: World Idol, a competition among the winners of American Idol and its counterpart in 10 other countries, will air on Fox on Christmas and New Year's nights. Viewers from around the world will have the chance to vote (details to come). Competing will be first winners only, meaning Kelly Clarkson's in and Ruben Studdard's out. . . . Bravo is developing a series called Things I Hate About You, in which couples will get video cameras to capture each other's annoying habits. . . . The E! network debuts in January How Do I Look? Three friends and relatives take turns making over a willing victim into the image they want for her. . . . The New York Post says the second season of The Restaurant starts shooting this week at Rocco's on 22nd Street.
