Erin Curtis-Boggs, a shortstop at Plant, signed a letter of intent Monday to attend Southern Mississippi. A former rookie of the year for Plant, Curtis-Boggs has played in seven national softball tournaments and last summer led the Tampa Mustangs in hitting, on-base percentage, at-bats, hits, triples and stolen bases. She will be joined on the Golden Eagles by Sickles' Krystal Crooks.

Crooks was one of three Gryphons signing scholarships as Tami Mayer and Jaime Horgan signed to row for Clemson. Plant's Abby Fernandez also will row for Clemson.

Tampa recruited the local schools heavily and signed Bloomingdale pitcher Allison Kime. Kime went 12-3 last season with a 0.35 ERA and 164 strikeouts in 99 innings.

Bloomingdale basketball player Erica Woodard also chose the Spartans. She averaged 17.2 points and 12.2 rebounds as a junior.

Plant pitcher Johnny Williams signed with UT. He went 5-1 with a 1.97 ERA and 39 strikeouts last season. Other local signings include: King gymnast Maalika Moore (Ohio State), Durant soccer player Alicia Tirelli (Florida Atlantic) and Tampa Bay Tech soccer player Lindsey Moore (Appalachian State).
