TAMPA - Six months after a passenger in a 2003 Pontiac died in a single-car crash, authorities arrested the driver and accused her of being drunk at the wheel.

Amy Burd, 22, of Ridge Manor, on Monday was charged with DUI manslaughter, said the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said Burd was speeding east on Adamo Drive about 3:45 a.m. May 18 when she lost control of the car and it flipped.

Burd and her two passengers were injured. One of the passengers, Misty Spencer, 23, from the Trilby area in Pasco County near Dade City, died a week later.

Detectives subpoenaed Burd's medical records and learned her blood alcohol level was 0.156, almost twice the legal limit of 0.08.

Burd and the other passenger, Antonio Monroe, 16, of Brandon, recovered from their injuries.
