A man wanted in a January murder in Hillsborough County was arrested Wednesday in Gainesville, sheriff's deputies said Wednesday.

Michael Connor, 24, of Gainesville was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Gerard Robinson.

Robinson, 19, of Tampa, was fatally shot Jan. 11 at the Value Lodge Tampa on E Fowler Avenue. Officials said Robinson had gone to meet someone at the motel, and witnesses heard gunshots from one of the rooms. Robinson died at the scene.

Officials said Connor was in custody Wednesday at the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
