TAMPA - Authorities on Tuesday arrested a Tampa man for his role in a shooting that injured an innocent woman while she slept. Corey Qian Brown, 23, of 3301 N 29th St., was arrested at his home almost a month after the shooting, said the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Brown is thought to have gotten into an altercation with a group of men at a Tampa bar in the early morning of Oct. 19. According to reports, he followed four men from the bar to the Country Crossing Apartment at 50th Street and Puritan Road.

He fired at least four rounds at the men, who were sitting inside a car in the apartment parking lot, officials said. One bullet entered the bedroom wall of an apartment, striking a 35-year-old woman as she slept, reports state. She was struck in the torso.

Deputies say witnesses identified Brown as the shooter.
