SPRING HILL - A 47-year-old Spring Hill man was being held without bail at Hernando County Jail on Friday after he was accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a teen girl more than two dozen times dating back to June 2002, authorities said.

Lonnie Leroy Seymour was arrested Thursday after Hernando County sheriff's deputies responded to allegations that Seymour had inappropriately touched a 14-year-old girl.

Seymour told investigators that he had touched the girl and performed sex acts on her about 30 times. The alleged abuse began in June 2002, the arrest report said.

A 24-year-old woman also told a sheriff's deputy that Seymour had raped her for several years, the report said.

Seymour was later taken to the Sheriff's Office for further questioning. The report said he told investigators the sexual battery of the 14-year-old began more than 17 months ago.

Seymour, a carpenter, was taken into custody and charged with 30 counts of sexual battery on a child under 18, a first-degree felony. If convicted on all counts, Seymour faces up to 30 years in prison.

Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Joseph Paez said the Sheriff's Office has investigated the woman's rape allegations and has contacted authorities in Ohio, where the alleged attacks took place.
