Published November 28, 2003

WHEN/WHERE: 1 p.m.; Florida Citrus Bowl, Orlando.

RECORDS: Miami of Ohio 10-1, 7-0 MAC; UCF 3-8, 2-5.

COACHES: Miami - Terry Hoeppner (37-20, sixth season); UCF - Alan Gooch (first season).

NOTES: Central Florida won the first meeting last year 48-31 at Oxford, Ohio. The Golden Knights better savor that memory. The RedHawks have won 10 straight since a season-opening 21-3 loss to Iowa. How far has UCF fallen? The Knights are ranked in triple figures in several key statistical categories: 100th in pass efficiency defense (140.9), 101st in rushing defense (199.3 yards), 102nd in scoring offense (18.5), 103rd in total offense (314.6 yards) and 105th in rushing offense (104.8). Miami is averaging 22.2 more points and 166 offensive yards and is led by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (271-398, 3,343 yards, 24 touchdowns, nine interceptions), one of the nation's best. The RedHawks are the third ranked team to visit the Florida Citrus Bowl.
