ORLANDO - Magic forward Drew Gooden put it succinctly: "Same story, different day."
Orlando's losing streak reached a franchise-record 18 games Friday night as San Antonio's Tim Duncan scored a season-high 47 in a 105-94 victory. The Magic lost 17 straight in 1991-92.
Orlando's shortcomings were familiar: Missed defensive rotations leading to easy baskets, surrendered offensive rebounds, a late letdown erasing whatever good was accomplished earlier.
"It's becoming increasingly difficult to win a basketball game," said coach Johnny Davis, 0-7 since replacing the fired Doc Rivers. "Certainly, the more you lose the tougher it seems to get."
The Magic rallied from an 18-point deficit in the first half and led 80-75 entering the fourth after Tracy McGrady scored 16 of his 28 in the third. But Orlando shot 5-for-21 down the stretch as the Spurs closed with an 18-7 run.
"Guys are playing the game hard, but everybody is playing hard," said McGrady, who missed his final nine. "Let's try to play smart basketball. At times we do that, but for the most part, we're not. That's why we're giving away these games."
NETS 93, BUCKS 86: Kenyon Martin had 20 points and matched his career high with 21 rebounds, helping host New Jersey snap a four-game losing streak. Playing in front of about 3,000 because of a snowstorm, Jason Kidd added 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for his 54th career triple double for the Nets. Michael Redd had 24 points and Desmond Mason added 19 for the Bucks, who played without Toni Kukoc (back spasms) and Tim Thomas (ankle).
Also, Kidd was fined $10,000 by the league for verbally abusing and publicly criticizing game officials after Wednesday's loss to Memphis. Kidd made derogatory comments after officials failed to make a foul call against Stromile Swift after he bumped Kidd. 76ERS 93, HEAT 90: Allen Iverson scored 35 and visiting Philadelphia withstood a second-half comeback. The Heat fell behind by 19 with three minutes left in the third before rallying. Miami missed three 3-pointers down the stretch that would have tied it, including a 24-footer by Lamar Odom with two seconds left. Iverson missed 16-of-23 but went 16-of-17 from the free-throw line and scored the game's final points with 21 seconds left. Dwyane Wade scored 21 for Miami.
SUNS 110, CELTICS 106: Stephon Marbury hit consecutive 3-pointers in the final three minutes to cap a 29-point comeback, the largest in Suns history. Marbury scored 21 of his 34 in the second half after host Boston took a 65-36 lead with the first basket of the third. Phoenix's largest comeback was 27 points at Dallas on March 2, 1997.
RAPTORS 92, HAWKS 87: Jalen Rose had 22 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds, and Vince Carter also scored 22 for host Toronto. Donyell Marshall added 21 points for the Raptors, who are 3-0 since acquiring Rose, Marshall and Lonny Baxter from Chicago. Carter, in foul trouble throughout, had 12 points in the fourth quarter.
GRIZZLIES 92, WIZARDS 77: Pau Gasol had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and newcomer Bonzi Wells' 12 points and six assists highlighted host Memphis' win. Wells, acquired Wednesday from Portland, received a standing ovation when he entered early in the first quarter. He had three assists in his first two minutes, two of them leading to dunks, and shot 6-for-13 in 27 minutes as Memphis won its fourth straight.
ROCKETS 83, HORNETS 74: Maurice Taylor came off the bench to score 17 and Cuttino Mobley added 16 for visiting Houston. Yao Ming and Kelvin Cato combined to dominate inside. Yao had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Cato added 10 rebounds, nine points and four blocks. Houston finished with a 43-34 rebounding edge. Darrell Armstrong led the Hornets with 17 off the bench.
JAZZ 86, CLIPPERS 67: Matt Harpring scored 20 and Utah held Los Angeles to its lowest point total of the season despite the return of Elton Brand. Utah improved to 10-1 at home and continued to dominate the Clippers, who have won once in Salt Lake City since the Delta Center opened in 1991. The Clippers' previous season low was 78 on Nov. 19 at Indiana. Brand, who missed 13 games with a stress fracture in his foot, scored 13.
NUGGETS 98, WARRIORS 91: Denver has its first six-game win streak in almost 13 years. Rookie Carmelo Anthony scored 28 and Voshon Lenard added 18 to lead the Nuggets, who have won seven straight at home. Mike Dunleavy had 19 points for Golden State, which lost back-to-back games to the Nuggets after beating them four straight.
BLAZERS 88, KNICKS 81: Zach Randolph had 22 points and nine rebounds to lead host Portland from a 19-point first-half deficit. Keith Van Horn had 15 points to lead the Knicks, who have lost three straight.
MALONE SUSPENDED: Karl Malone will not play Sunday against his former team, the Jazz, after being suspended one game by the league for elbowing Dallas guard Steve Nash in the head in the Lakers' 114-103 victory on Thursday night.
