JOANNE KORTHRB Deuce McAllister vs. S John Lynch
Running back Deuce McAllister has rushed for at least 100 yards in his past nine games, a Saints record and a statistic that does not bode well for the Bucs. Tampa Bay has allowed five 100-yard rushers this season, including McAllister on Nov. 2, and lost all five games.
"You've got to stop Deuce McAllister first," said safety John Lynch, a solid run-stopper throughout his career and likely to be the eighth man in the box today for the Bucs.
"Nine straight games over 100 yards - we know what we're going to get. We're going to get two tight ends and a lot of Deuce. It's a great challenge and we look forward to it."
McAllister - 6 feet 1, 221 pounds - is a physical runner with the strength to move the pile. He typically picks up hidden yards two at a time by falling forward at the end of each run. Over the course of a game, those yards add up.
