PALM HARBOR - Fire officials are investigating the cause of a kitchen blaze Sunday near the Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort in which two people were treated for smoke inhalation.

The two residents, whose names were not released, were treated at the scene and then taken to Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs.

Their conditions were not disclosed Sunday, but Palm Harbor Fire Rescue District Chief Dan Zinge said their injuries were not life-threatening.

The fire occurred about 4:30 p.m. at 26 Citrus Drive, a rental property east of U.S. 19. The fire was contained to the kitchen, but smoke damaged the rest of the single-family home, Zinge said.
