KEY INJURIES: Tampa Bay - LW Andre Roy (knee, out); D Dan Boyle (concussion, out); RW Ben Clymer (concussion, out). New York - None.

THE LOWDOWN: The Lightning has won consecutive games for the first time since beating the Islanders and Sabres on Nov. 20 and 22. ... The Islanders have lost seven of eight overall and five of seven at home. ... Tampa Bay won the first meeting 3-2 at the St. Pete Times Forum. ... New York RW Mariusz Czerkawski, who has a team-high 11 goals, has zero in eight games and two in 13. ... C Alexei Yashin has three goals in his past two games but zero in 12 previous. ... The Lightning penalty kill has succeeded in 11 consecutive short-handed situations and, entering Monday, was No. 2 in the league at 87.4 percent. ... New York's penalty kill was ranked eighth at 85.5 percent but had allowed nine goals in its past 33 situations. ... The Islanders had the league's worst power play at 10.7 percent. ...
