Police request vandalism charges against four boys

TARPON SPRINGS - Police said Monday that they are asking the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney's Office to consider felony burglary and criminal mischief charges against four 13-year-old boys for vandalism last month at Tarpon Springs Middle School.

The boys, whose names were not released and who are eighth-graders at the school, told investigators that they took part in the vandalism, police said. During the Thanksgiving weekend, vandals spray-painted profane messages on walls and stairwells at the school and splattered the cafeteria with chocolate pudding and raspberry gelatin. Police used finger- and shoeprints to help tie the four boys to the crime. None of the boys have been arrested before.
