Wanted: your fantasy epics

Our favorite fantasy epics are slowly dying. The third and final Lord of the Rings movie comes to theaters on Wednesday. The sixth and last Star Wars movie rolls out in summer 2005. J.K. Rowling plans to write only two more Harry Potter books.

After that, we may never see another enthralling fantasy series again, unless somebody writes a new one. Why not you? Grab a pencil or a computer and craft a new tale for the world to enjoy.

Here’s what you need:
An immeasurable power: the ring/ magic/the force	A naive youth who never imagines becoming a hero: Frodo/Harry/Luke	A cast of supporting characters: Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli/Ron, Hermione/Princess Leia, Han Solo.
A wise white-bearded guru: Gandalf/Dumbledore/ Obi-Wan Kenobi	An evil lord: Sauron/Voldemort/ Darth Vader, Darth Sidious	A really cool weapon: Aragorn’s sword Anduril/wand/ lightsaber
Really evil creatures: the Ringwraiths/ Dementors/ Darth Maul	Lesser monsters: Gollum/the Basilisk/ Jabba the Hutt	Run-of-the-mill bad dudes: giant spiders/ orcs/droids
