EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Sami Kapanen scored a goal and set up two others to rally the Flyers to a tie at 3 with the Devils on Friday.

Keith Primeau got the tying goal with less than seven minutes left in regulation and Donald Brashear also scored for the Flyers, who took 40 shots at Martin Brodeur in extending their current streak to 13-1-5.

The Flyers' only loss in their streak was to New Jersey.

Jay Pandolfo, Scott Niedermayer and Patrik Elias scored for the Devils, who managed 21 shots against a shaky Jeff Hackett in improving to 13-2-5.

Philadelphia leads the Devils by six points in the Atlantic Division.

The teams play again today in Philadelphia and there is bound to be bad blood after a scrum late in overtime in front of the Devils net. Brodeur made a nice save on Tony Amonte, who took an extra swipe at the rebound. Brodeur then hit him in the head.

THRASHERS 6, PENGUINS 3: Slava Kozlov scored for the fifth straight game, tying a franchise record, in host Atlanta's fourth consecutive victory.

Marc Savard added a goal and two assists, and Shawn McEachern also scored for Atlanta, which increased its lead in the Southeast Division to five points over Tampa Bay.

Serge Aubin scored an empty-net goal with 2:24 left to seal it.

Goalie Milan Hnilicka was recalled from the minor leagues to fill in for injured starter Roman Cechmanek.

PANTHERS 4, CANADIENS 2: Viktor Kozlov, Matt Cullen and Juraj Kolnik scored third-period goals to complete host Florida's rally.

The Panthers snapped a six-game winless streak despite allowing first-period goals to Richard Zednik and Saku Koivu.

The Canadiens lost for only the second time in eight games. Montreal has not won consecutive contests since their sixth and seventh games of the season.

RANGERS 3, SABRES 1: Anson Carter had a goal and an assist, and Jussi Markkanen made 19 saves for visiting New York.

Alex Kovalev and Petr Nedved also scored for the Rangers.

Curtis Brown scored the only goal for Buffalo, which lost its fourth straight.

Markkanen was making his first start since being pulled after allowing three goals in 16 minutes against Toronto on Dec. 2.

BLUES 3, BLUE JACKETS 2 (OT): Doug Weight scored with 8.7 seconds left for visiting St. Louis.

Weight rammed in a pass from Pavol Demitra seconds after Keith Tkachuk leveled Columbus defenseman Darryl Sydor in open ice. When officials did not signal an obstruction call, a crowd of 17,892 booed and threw cups on the ice.

Columbus coach Doug MacLean walked down to the boards to protest the non-call as the officials left the ice.

Rick Nash forced OT by scoring midway through the third for Columbus.

STARS 1, BLACKHAWKS 0: Bill Guerin scored with 5:41 to play and Marty Turco made 16 saves for his 17th shutout to help host Dallas end a five-game losing streak.

Guerin skated hard to the net and converted Mike Modano's pass from the right corner for his 16th goal. It was the difference in what had been a goaltenders' duel between Turco and Steve Passmore.

OILERS 3, COYOTES 3: Radek Dvorak scored a power-play goal with 7:46 left in regulation to help give Edmonton a point.

Daymond Langkow, Ladislav Nagy and Fredrik Sjostrom scored for the host Coyotes. Ryan Smyth and Fernando Pisani also scored for Edmonton.

TV TALKS: ABC and ESPN want to continue showing games after the contract expires next year despite low ratings and a possible labor stoppage. George Bodenheimer, president of ESPN and ABC Sports, said talks are underway o replace the five-year, $600-million deal that ends this season.
