Palladium Theater director resigns

Paul Stavros has resigned as executive director of the Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg and will be replaced on an interim basis by Brent Douglas, the managing director. Stavros, who co-founded the theater in a former Christian Science church, will remain on the board of trustees. In 2002, Stavros announced plans to step down as executive director, then two months later decided to stay on.
Theater actor dies in car accident
Actor Mark Trent, who performed with Jobsite Theater and Alley Cat Players in Tampa, died Thursday of injuries suffered in a car accident Dec. 8 in St. Petersburg. Mr. Trent, 28, appeared in Maxwell, The Tibetan Book of the Dead, subUrbia, The Acropolis Project, Titus Andronicus and Murder Ballads with Jobsite and A Man for All Seasons with Alley Cat Players.
Burbank airport renamed in honor of Bob Hope
Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport formally changed its name Wednesday to honor legendary entertainer Bob Hope, who flew in and out of the airport during his decades of cheering American troops overseas.
Hope's wife, Dolores, and his children attended the dedication of the Bob Hope Airport.
Rapper Nas turns himself in to face assault charges
NEW YORK - Rapper Nas turned himself in and was charged with assault for allegedly throwing a bottle at a man during a Dec. 10 fight in a Manhattan nightclub.
A bouncer broke up a fight involving Nas, 30, and others, but Nas grabbed a bottle and threw it at a man involved in the fight, hitting him in the head and cutting him, police said.
